Objectively good.

From comedy to drama, theatre to film, scripted to improvised, Andy Marie is a versatile performer who puts the “they” in the(y)actrical.

About

Andy Marie (they/them/theirs) is a queer non-binary mixed-race (half-Filipino-half white) Canadian-American actor/writer/improviser based in Vancouver, BC (unceded territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh Nations.)

Andy learned acting from a young age from their mother, Ana de Lara, an actress who ran her own children’s theatre company before embarking on an award-winning filmmaking career. Andy has also trained at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade NY, BGB Studio, Railtown Actors Studio, Vancouver Acting School, Montreal Improv, and Improv College.

They are an alum of Improv College's mainstage narrative team and Montreal Improv Theatre's narrative house team and main ensemble. Improv highlights include the beatnik-themed “Hipster Cafe," which Andy produced and hosted, and their one-person murder mystery show, “The Lady & The Leg,” a Mainline Creativity Award nominee at the 2016 Montreal Fringe Festival.

Feature film credits include the award-winning mockumentary “Open for Submissions” and the upcoming musical comedy “Much Ado!” Theatre credits include Chemainus Theatre festival’s “Annie” and Kaleidoscope Theatre’s “Charlotte’s Web.”

Andy enjoys exploring identity, culture, intersectionality, and what it means to be human through comedy, collaborative art, and storytelling.
